Drip, Drop

“Oh flower, how pleased am I with you, as you have the fragrance of someone beloved”

- Maulana Yusuf

Oh my heart’s mainstay, this universe is a garden of yours

What all possess individually you own collectively

When the soul of the soul clasps each other’s highest and lowest with care

From multiple dimensions does the beloved come again, from everywhere

It is simply a pretext that lovers accuse the deer for it’s nose to spare

The fragrance of musk is a result of her beauty that cant be found elsewhere

Were I to die for thee the feeling would be beyond the art of sublime

Feel free to sharpen your knife, lay me on the altar and slice my spine

The string of lamps are half lit, the day’s splendour profoundly silent

It’s quiet without rejoice, speech thieving, water producing

Today there isn’t any music aside from the sound of tears dripping on thick carpets

“Look at the unusual ways in the school of love

One who learns his lesson gets no leave"

- Maulana Yusuf
