On The Stretched Forefinger Of Time

Amid laughter, learnings of friends and family, gentleness

In hearts at peace, under an Indian heaven

The night wind cries with echoes of despair

Yet we walk on the soil with our feet made of air

The stars broidered upon the rain

The rain rustling with the stars

And if there was a single wish that does fulfill

Take the best of what I have in this world too

I’d ask that from Allah, that which I will

Would only be - The gift of you

Though life’s objective port is passed and neared

It’s noblest currents still run

Into souls of humans straightened and steered

To the Isles of an inward Sun

With jewels ten thousand poems long

That on the stretched forefinger of all time

Sparkle forever

- Hafez

It’s from الله
