Why Did I Bother?
Pearls of the sky and jewels of the sea
Gorgeousness appropriately phased
Beside intellect’s divine decree
Heaven's vault of topaz is raised
The deep chasms of agony that are felt when love falters
My friend has been stung by an attack that halters
I know the freshness of that hurt which he now encounters
To try helping these two so much, why did I bother?
This Mother is not bringing her child to his Father
I am somehow left to join the two in between
How many times must we do this again?
Singed by a desert sun beam
It’s ancient luminescent pain
Echoes in the shining blood’s gleam
My wound has opened itself clean
Only now with new red rips at the seam
Sitting on the bench by the court at Kits
A product of love caught in between two splits
Not forgetting thee in the fog of war’s midst
Some may love you in bites -
I love you to bits
It’s from الله
