On Love and Fear

From an old notebook. For those who wonder about Hell’s existence. You have the power to douse it with a single night’s prayer. Now think how many have cried in this way.

When I was younger I used to misunderstand why/how Allah wants us to fear him… Then I realized that fear of punishment(Hell) was not what is meant, such simple fear is fit for human kings to use on plebeian subjects, but not for the King of all Kings. This fear of Allah is that between lovers, more of a fear of being separated, of having his grace withdrawn in the slightest, of his love being veiled from us by even an iota.
