✈️ 🌌

Notes from a reading of Umar Khayyam’s Rubaiyat on a plane that ended up being a lil something.

Less successful than dust wanting to settle beneath a working wheel

Or satan’s attempts to rust Ali’s sword of Indian sparkling steel

Bridle the winds and attempt setting limits on the sea

Tempt wandering clouds and air to no longer be free

The star of destiny has thrown the noose of sunset upon the roof

The impact of colliding orbits surviving - is plenty of proof

When Saturn rises with its baleful power

When the fruits aren’t ripe and the grapes are all sour

Don’t worry mere jaan - here comes Jupiter’s hour
