Forever Engraved
When I turned 22 my grandmother told me a few things, I wrote down the summarized version then, found it recently. I’ll forgive the messy handwriting in favour of modern literacy.
The best men she knew in her life were not only good, but had a capability for immense, almost artistic evil, meant to terrify, even destroy if required.
It was in the face of this challenge that she saw them wake up every day, determined to be good with the allure and understanding of darkness looming over their shoulder, perhaps even an actual Demon.
The distance between their capability for evil and their ultimate good deeds, was the true measure of their virtue.
To forgo the ego rush of domination in favour of empowerment in most cases, is the right thing to do.
The more dangerous you are, the more capacity you wield to affect change, what direction this goes in is ultimately a conscious or subconscious choice depending how aware we are. It often means taking things extra slow, sometimes it means drinking blood as you look into another soul’s eyes with a crooked smile.
You can never sit on your high horse too long, sometimes you gotta get down in the mud and creep fools out. The key is to put yourself in a state where you are willing… Willing to love, willing to accept, willing to forgive, to listen, but also willing to rip a mans ribs from the spine so you can get to his heart and eat it raw while his eyes and brain are able to process what is happening in real time, if need be.
These are the men that are worth associating with, nothing less, provided they have souls which choose peace and harmony unless provoked unnecessarily.
They ask why Humanity and Jinn’s worship is preferred to that of the Angels, it’s because of this potential duality, Angels do not sin, nor do they suffer temptation, but those with the deepest temptation have much to offer from their goodness to God.
