City of Pearls

I’m not that special Lord

What else am I needed for?

The branches of diaspora I’ve strengthened will carry on forever more

The impact on some souls generations have lovingly transformed their core

Families that unite and eat from borders that were once at war

This isn’t some Mongolian Khanate lore

Through the first gate, therein lies another door

It can be scary to explore

This is fate unravelled, not a fantasy store

‘Without Lucifer it’d be difficult to appreciate the glory of God’

To an imbecile like me, this statement is slightly flawed

But there exists strain of truth within which I applaud

Certain corners of darkness invite light

Attracted by a silence that roars bright

“Illuminate me!”

The beckoning of an unlit silver lantern

Prayers like this are surely answered

A few years ago I was elated and sad

Summers heat in a village outside Hyderabad

An Angel came in your form and offered Salaam

You were a hundred cities away

We last texted in May

Your airy essence mixed with fixed golden clay

It wasn’t surprising a spirit would visit me that day

But what of this one from the light race?

I thought it was interesting, but it wasn’t the only ace

How did it know you could put a smile in the stars of my face?

Why did it choose you to have my soul’s height embrace?

Between us was an abundance of space

Yet there I was in a blistering masjid, yearning for your taste

It’s from الله
