A Spark Amidst the Ash

Rule 15 of Shams-I-Tabrizi’s Rules of Love (Ironic that they are called rules)

“It’s easy to love a perfect God, unblemished and infallible that He is. What is far more difficult is to love fellow human beings with all their imperfections and defects. Remember, one can only know what one is capable of loving. There is no wisdom without love. Unless we learn to love God’s creation, we can neither truly love nor truly know God.”

I was pushing the pain deep within when you found me

Yet you saw a light sparkle in the midst of volcanic ash

It could have been horrific

You didn’t understand yet…

You jumped right into the pacific

Wave by wave

Cave by cave

Decrypting erosion on this cold, albeit fiery seabed floor

You began with love as opposed to understanding

- and found so much more

Showing you true tales far exceed modern lore

You began with love and managed to unravel an Ocean

Filled with ancient metaphysical jewels, elixirs, and potion

Had you only begun with talk and information

This love may have never left the station

What blessings God placed within your soul

Time, care, and effort, can never be outweighed by gold

Never leaving my hand, You drew out the pain

When in grief, you stood with me in the rain

Taking my hand by its sadness

Placing therein an Amethyst Chalice

Gushing love’s fragrant juice

These are gifts to which this boy can never be aloof

Placing your hand over my heart

In the last third of that night

Things happened that feel right

and as a result, you’ll never leave my heart’s sight

It’s from الله
