Chapter #34
بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم
Wrapping these words of sorrow, tying them with the poet’s pin
I take my punches and blunt hits close by the chin
Even sometimes in pain - I’ll let out a little grin
Another silver bar is found again in the bin
Comforted by the fact that even when we sin
God wants us closer, akin to something like kin
To bask in blissful intimacy tenderly with him
Angels invoked that as early vigour burns
Eventually a mature father in the son returns
My bosom stitches itself together in repair
Yet it still loves on in dark despair
A thin new moon shredded apart
Allah forget not this broken heart
Her and my Mother’s name are divine neighbours, God the mutual landscaper
Seas of emotion, moving music curdles into thoughts spilling onto paper
“Can’t I for love’s effeminate control.
Barter the ‘glory’ of a warrior’s soul?”
Crowned brows from Sheba claim the tribute just
Rearing it's head that prostrates nightly in the dust
Waking up for Tahajjud with a question and smiles
Why does the morning breeze tend to early rise?
Is it to shine lustre on the oceans amethyst tiles?
Or is to embed crystal clouds on sapphire skies?
- Sayings of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) from ‘Light in the heavens’
*Surah Saba (“Sheba”) is one of my favourite surahs, the 34th chapter of Qur’an with a total of 54 ayats or verses. It is classified as a Meccan surah.
This Surah seeks to answer the objections raised by rich Meccans about Tawhid, Risalah and Akhirah. It also recounts stories about Prophets David and Solomon (may peace be upon them) and the Queen of Sheba to remind people about the consequences of evil as well as righteousness.
