An Eternal Inclination Without Any Interference
مُرِيْدُ الخَيْرِ وَالشَّرِ الْقَبِيْحِ
وَلَكِنْ ليسَ يَرْضَى بِالمُحَالِ
God wills good and loathsome evil
But He doesn’t accept wrong deeds
Commentary of hadith no.19 - Jami ul Uloom wal Hikam - Ibn Rajab
The best way for prayer to be accepted is that when escape is not coming, and one becomes despondent, losing hope after seeking from God beyond measure, not seeing any sign of acceptance, that one goes inside and blames themselves sincerely. That “I am in this situation because of myself, and if there was any good in myself, The Lord would have given me what I was looking for, respite, openings, and answers by now”.
This blaming of one’s self is more beloved to God than an abundance of good deeds, as this brings humility to one’s self. For who is he after all?
