Big 4 Accountant guy: Thanks so much for the time guys, Bashir can you just tell me what’s top of mind for you these days I know you are up to a lot of cool stuff, the numbers are fantastic, yet you guys and gals are low key about a lot of the work you’re doing in Canada and abroad.

Me: I’m really lucky that we’re riding on a strong wave in terms of our market, it’s cool. That isn’t what’s top of mind though. It’s more so about the use cases, both short and long term. To be honest I think a lot about other things that feed into what I do, that’s often more important than the actual work itself.

Accountant guy: Can you share? That’s the whole point of these virtual sessions with Partners and Founder Clients, that way we can better help.

Me: This isn’t something you can help with and I can’t share everything here but sure I’ll give you a snippet, I actually have something written down in my notes from yesterday

Me(realizing I keep answering this question again and again when few want to hear the real answer): You folks sometimes speak about venture capitalists as if they are somehow special, when in fact they are more often vulture capitalists, demonstrating how power and narcissism fucked each other, giving birth to the thing that we all love ….
